Our story (are you sitting comfortably?)
A problem shared....
Way back in the dim and distant past, we were running a small but very busy web design and consultancy business. We used spreadsheets to invoice our clients, which took us about one day a month to trawl through and get in the mail. This system was a real chore, and frustratingly distracting from our core business. To us, this was a day’s consultancy we were missing out on! Once the invoices were out the door, we'd tend to forget about them because we were so busy. At the end of the next month, we'd go through the same thing, with the added chore of chasing up late payments.
Many of our customers used similar systems to ours, or even worse, with Word documents and paper-based systems adding to the complexity of daily business administration. Their systems were awkward and difficult to keep on top of. To add to their misery, some of our customers had experienced corruption in their spreadsheets, and even disk crashes, which left their businesses floundering and in real trouble.
Other members of our team were working for larger companies in application
design and database security environments. Some of their clients were
experiencing similar issues with invoicing, and were
throwing valuable and costly resources at the problem. Many of these
clients had small technology budgets, and were not keen on buying expensive
backup systems. In discussions, many business owners realised this placed
them in a vulnerable position, but were worried about the security implications
of off-site backup solutions.
Solution search....
As web designers, we got fed up with having to do the boring, non-creative invoicing stuff, so looked around for a solution that was both secure and simple, one that we could recommend to our clients too. We started with PC based accounting systems but were soon bamboozled by the complexity and the language used in these 'simple to use' systems. Apart from being too complex, they were expensive and we were mindful of the cost of having to buy the next version once the vendor changed the colour of the screen, or added an extra 'widget'. We’d also have the cost and inconvenience of having to train ourselves up on the thing!
Of course, our clients would also have the problem of hardware crashes wiping out these accounting systems installed on their PCs, and the inherent security problems of having their invoicing data on their laptops.
We looked at some online solutions, most were ‘jack of all trade’ systems, with functionality we would never use, and with unfathomable pricing structures! Some had poor, or nonexistent security credentials, certainly none that we could trust our valuable data to.
Oh well. Whose turn is it to do the invoicing tomorrow?....

A unique and favourable series of business events brought the members of the Invoice Quick team together. We had common ethical viewpoints, demanded the same levels of customer services from businesses, and were fortunate enough to have that rare balance of relevant skills and industry experience which would enable us to focus our talents on building a robust and secure invoicing system that any business would benefit from.
We wanted to do something that was better and more useful than anything else out there. So, in short, we built a focused, easy to use invoicing tool with built in security, data encryption and data backups which collects and chases your payments for you. Did we mention that we firmly believe that our customers are our most valuable asset, and are committed to helping them in any way we can.
